When your children, teens and young adults ask, “Mom, if the Catholic Church is really of God, why would He let terrible scandal happen in His Church?”
Dr Ray, I like your analogy of the marriage. And your argument makes logical sense. But you didn’t touch on how to feel safe or trust the priest. How, myself as a mother no longer feels comfortable with allowing my son to run freely in the church. I find it hard to separate the sacraments from the hands of corrupt priest. I no longer look at past Popes the same. It just feels tainted. I love our Lords church. But I am just struggling with differentiating the two.

I suspect he will be addressing your concerns more specifically on a future radio show monologue. He’s on the air Monday through Friday 1pm-2pm eastern.
