Attendance at Mass is a pleasure. Sunday Mass participation should remain mandatory. I miss the Blue Laws. We seem to have lost our sense of reverence since businesses began opening on Sunday.

To mandate church attendance is counter productive in the fact that God can see peoples heart. He knows if they want to be there or not. I think the more progressive the church gets (read, the Pope) the less likely people will return. We are past Catholics and years ago we started going to a Bible based church. No bells and whistles, very basic and we NEVER miss because we WANT to be there.
