Dr. Ray. This information in spot on. I am a 70 year old grandmother who has raised my now15 year old granddaughter up until age 13. Her aunt took custody against my better judgment. I am being evaluated and criticized by attorneys, counsellors, Gardian ad litem, and the court system because I “talked to my granddaughter about death, mortality, and what our faith teaches us about our eternity.” As part of my discussions with my 13 year old granddaughter, I asked my GD who her preference would be to take custody should I become unable to care for her, reassuring her that only God decides when life begins and ends for all of us. I was told that this was emotional abuse by secular “experts.” So, I have not been allowed to have contact with my GD since November 2022. God only knows the grief that I suffer for the loss of my child.
I know that God works all things together for good for us who are faithful to him. He is my comfort. I am specifically asking if death is an age appropriate discussion? I do not think that we talk enough to our teens about death, and that includes prolife discussions.
